My Six Sentences

My Six Sentences

Judgment reminds me that my first sentence was the worst; it had me locked up for two days due to some bad decisions and language and my punishment was to write out ten times - I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’ I will not say ‘What the f**k!’

My second sentence was a bit shorter.

My third sentence, having learned nothing much from my previous two involved spending quite a bit of time in a terrifying place – Solitary’s Writer’s Block.

My fourth sentence was a repeat offense - bad decisions and language again (which I would like to blame on that long stint in Writer’s Block!) this rewrite’s punishment - write out twenty times - ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’ ‘THINK!!!’

Here on my fifth sentence, well I could have written a pretty good novel by now regarding my previous experiences, but I got into trouble when I tried to break out slipping from the pen.

This sixth sentence is mercifully my last; I’ve reached the end of the line.

Paul de Denus publishes excerpts from the novels he's never written. This was one of them.

  • Love this Paul. There is a rebelliousness about this that makes me smile.

    • Thanks for reading and commenting!

    • Agreed.

  • That fourth sentence is always a doozy.
