Writers can surely seldom say this or that word was a crux. Writing is more like life, a fox trot: slow, slow, quick quick, slow.

This is phenomenal. The person the great Mr. Serling is referring to is Hemingway. "There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed."
