Is it because we always yo-yo between bursts of creativity and self-loathing? Or is it because we need intervals of for intense introspection and contemplation ???

I know why I was MIA for a few months, simple:- I could not log in. It was the strangest thing. I would try to sign in with my Facebook account, the page would act like it was just about to let me through, and would magically refresh and send me back to page/square one.

I tried emailing support/creating a new profile and nothing would help, and for the longest time there I thought my computer was banned from this site, for reasons I really could/did not understand.

I bought a new desktop last week (a Mac), and tried logging in today on the strength of just a passing fancy, and lo and behold it worked and here I am!!! :)

Good to see you up and running, Abhi. You'll adore the Mac. Speaking for myself, my work days are filled with writing, reading and editing -- more so now because this is the crunch time for our fall magazines. It's hard to read (or write) for pleasure under these circumstances, but I can't stay away from here for longer than a week.

Thank you guys. It is nice to be among such intelligent company.

I've missed so much reading and writing. Well, I better get started I suppose.

I've been wondering myself why writers disappear.   A couple of years ago there was a large core group.  They're down to about half now, at least on a regular basis.  I'm glad you're back!!  And glad you got a Mac!  And I want one too!  My computer is doing goofy things as well.

Hey Abhi, long time. Well, writers tend to disappear for a variety of reasons, e.g. rabbitholes. However, the problem in your is kinda unique. Lol. And welcome back, its good to have you around again.

Wow, that's really weird and annoying about your LogIn problems.  Sorry about that.  (I'd say your observations about "bursts of creativity and self-loathing" and needing "intervals for intense introspection and contemplation" are pretty spot-on.)
