What's Been Happening Lately
I just got back from Arizona on Sunday & had a blast, but it was too short.
My captioned telephone arrived, & I can now talk to friends on the phone with some delays between when I talk & the other person does, but as my best friend says, "it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick".
Dad bought a Jeep that needs some work, so I am busy finding odds & ends like door handles & latches.
My good friend Bill is staying with me today, one of my friends has a kidney infection, & Mom has a sinus/ear infection, & I want to help them feel better, but I do not wanna bother them too.
I know 90 something words in ASL now & want to learn more.
What have you been up to, my friends?

I am envious at your diligence at ASL. I wish I had known that language years ago so I could converse with my cousins. They are gone now.

Congratulations on the 90 something words!!! Makes me feel lazy too! No infections at my house, just busy with kids and growing piles of stuff on my countertops. I think my countertops are growing into a Twilight episode. I don't understand how my "to-do's" grow into physical piles of chaos/clutter so fast. Anyway, tonight we had Mexican food and margaritas... I wrote 1,000 words. I read some of Natalie Goldberg's An Old Friend From Far Away. The kids are in bed now and I'll take the dogs out soon. Then I'll curl up with Augusten Burrough's book Dry about his alcoholism and recovery. He makes tragedy funny. My kind of guy.

Been up to reading some fine pieces on this site (including this one, which makes me feel like I'm lazy), been having more fun writing a book than I've had in years (thank you, Liacita, for steering me in the right direction), been to see some great live music, saying goodbye to some friends and nurturing some others, missing the ocean and the mountains but being glad to get some rain. Thanks for askin'!
