What can YOU say in six sentences?
I am a song well sung; a tale joyfully told; a confluence of mistakes and learning, my faults are easily assigned though my intent may be misunderstood.
Judgment is woefully bounded by a perception and conception of ideals and right and wrong are moral mirages while tolerance is a philosophical understatement and understanding is only a conceptual intelligence.
Well worn shoes can only have one pair of feet and interlopers will only see the scarred leather exterior and the need for repair but only the wearer will intimately know all of the pained pebbled spaces deep inside.
Tolerance is to realize that you cannot understand but are willing to forgive my perceived ignorance and sharing is the ultimate human condition but only when it meets some standard of allocated justice conceived in a limited sphere of understanding.
Justice is a mere guideline and the final truth exists inside a frail pair of well worn shoes and beauty is only one truth at a time to be found inside a single brain cell that chose to connect with other like homogeneous partners.
And so it is; a pine box built for one will only contain the body but not the ideals or yearnings of a misbegotten soul and hopefully there will be a song well sung and a tale joyfully told by future bards that glimpsed the dreams and aspirations of a well traveled pair of footprints in the sands of humanity.

Comment by Edward Dean on March 31, 2011 at 6:49pm Now there's a subject for a long evenings discussion!
My point in this piece was how many times throughout history has right and wrong changed either legally or morally?(e.g. the 10 commandments?)
Fairness and decency are internal components and yes, we all have fixed fundamental values but even those can be changed, amended or modified.
The most potent modifiers are knowledge, fear and hate and of these fear is always the wild card.
Comment by Gita on March 31, 2011 at 2:37pm Do you truly believe that "right and wrong are moral mirages" Ed?
I bet you have a few hard-wired ideas of right and wrong that don't shift and shimmer like mirages do. I bet you are a man who recognizes certain fundamental and unchanging principles of fairness and decency toward others. I have to believe you do.
