What can YOU say in six sentences?
remember the night we sat around the fire talking about what our super power would be, and everyone coughed up an answer except for me? i suggested that you should be careful what you wish for and refused to play the game. let me tell you there is no greater power, no greater gift, than delivering justice, and i do it every night because my wish was granted. i stalk evil men (and women, we're not above it) in their dreams and cause lingering nightmares. their sufferings are so great they sometimes die by their own hand, but more often from my own.
i'm writing to you from the cell of my heart, and consider this not a confession but a warning.

Comment by Joey Delgado on July 21, 2012 at 12:57pm Pretty chilling, Kristine. The six was like a peek inside the mind of a vigilante. There is a killer trapped inside the body of a hero. Nice writing. :) I also enjoy the e.e. cummings-like all lower case style. It adds a lot, makes the whole thought seem like a dangerous whisper.
Comment by Mike Handley on July 21, 2012 at 12:43am I'll bring the fava beans and chianti to Kansas. ;-)
Comment by Brittany on July 20, 2012 at 6:00pm This was very lamby (not a word, I know) but it reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. Such a quiet, chilling confidence in your tone. The last sentence is great too, just enough to get the point across.
Comment by Kristine_ES on July 19, 2012 at 10:18pm yeah, gita started it, but bob did a great job picking up and running with it. WUUUHOOO!
still wondering how teresa can say "gone" dark... underneath this penguin-wielding exterior beats the heart of stephen kingette
Comment by Bob Clay on July 19, 2012 at 6:56pm Also note how Gita, having boiled her landlord down to a skeleton, is trying to shift the blame on me !!! I've a good mind to report her to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Serial Killers.
Comment by Jeanette Cheezum on July 19, 2012 at 6:26pm Whew! I promise I'll be good.
You done gone dark on us. Well, my super power was to be a healer, so you kill 'em and I'll heal 'em. We could get rich!!
Comment by Bob Clay on July 19, 2012 at 4:54pm This is all starting to remind me of that farm the men in white coats took me too many years ago. I just might not bother with sleeping tonight.
Comment by Gita on July 19, 2012 at 4:44pm Before I say how GOOD this is, let me make it clear that it was BOB CLAY who made up this challenge. All I did was to confess to killing my landlord (may he rot in a swamp for eternity).
Sentence one is highly plausible. I can see how people would tell their super power wish and how you might hold back. Sentence two also sounds like you. Then all hell breaks loose and you go all avenging angel on our asses. Nice little bit of noir, here.
