I want her to laugh long and loud, sing for me as I sing for her, and lie in the crook of my arm, smiling, eyes closed, and content.

I'd like us to play and wrestle around, rub noses and smooch, and I'd like to laugh when she caps me.

I'll scratch her back, imagine I hear her purring like cats, and feel her soft, measured breath like a heartbeat.

We can talk late and giggle like children just in from the storm.

I want her to love me.

And boy, do I need a friend.

Love this. Brilliant 6. Everybody needs somebody like this sometimes.

Line five, straight and simple, but it reads like a trillion voices speaking in a single whisper.  It's powerful.

I want that for you, too, Robert.

isn't true friendship the most sustaining thing in any romance? So sweet and honest.
