Comment by Angela on August 3, 2012 at 9:46pm You made your experiences so easy to imagine and connect with. #1 is my fave.
Comment by Michelle on August 3, 2012 at 6:35pm Fantastic! I think #5 also happened to me.
Comment by Joey Delgado on August 3, 2012 at 12:06pm Nice memories. Love #1 and #4. It's so cool that when we're kids we look a broken glass glitterinig on the ground and think, Treasure. As adults we think, The park's so dirty, now I'm about to step on broken glass over here.
Comment by Stephen Torelli on August 3, 2012 at 11:01am Snowing in New York City. We love that. Fond memories.
Every one of these sounds so tender, just memory data but more because the bits are who you are. Reminds me of the quote, "God is in the details." Lovely. My seven year old would completely identify with #1.
Comment by Sandra Davies on August 3, 2012 at 9:46am I'm most impressed by no.6 - the preparation following realisation; my attitude has, regretfully, ever been ostrich-like.
The ingredients are simple: milk, seltzer water, and chocolate syrup. But the syrup must be Fox's U-Bet (not easy to get outside NY) and the proportions of the 3 ingredients and the order of adding is a huge secret.
Comment by Gita on August 2, 2012 at 11:55pm What is an egg cream? I used to hear New Yorkers talk about drinking them but never knew what went in them.
