What can YOU say in six sentences?
On Friday, I bought three large chickens from a local farm shop.
On Saturday, I jointed the chickens for the freezer then made a large pan of soup from the carcasses.
I left it to cool overnight, then portioned it out for the freezer on Sunday.
The sun shone on Monday, so I spent much of the day gardening.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, my daughters have interviews and meetings that could change their lives forever.
Three chickens, three wishbones - one wish for each of these pivotal days!

Comment by Dorothy Pendleton on February 20, 2013 at 11:37pm I said,"What a wonderful mom" aloud and then scrolled down to see Mike Handley's comment. The mom is so grounded in her life and its cycles, quiet and focused. How naturally she transfers her powers to her daughters, three wishbones, like seeds falling into a fresh furrow.

Comment by Diana E. Backhouse on February 20, 2013 at 8:20am Thank you all. We are awaiting news.
@ Joey - I am not so superstitious as to have thought of it before buying the chickens. The idea only came to me as I was stripping the last bits of chicken off the bones. Today's wishbone snapped in many pieces, but my hubby and I both made the wish.

Good look to your daughters as well.
Comment by Joey Delgado on February 20, 2013 at 2:02am Nice ending. If having those wishbones was your intention from the beginning then this is a very heartwarming story. Really shows a mother's love for her children. Nice work, Diana. Hope you write more. I've missed your daily installments.
