She stepped back into the apartment and quickly latched the door. Turning around, she pressed her back against it, and slowly slid toward a seated position, stopping to squat like a refugee in her own entryway. Frantic to make sense of the goings on around her, Hilary turned through her mind trying to think of someone who would address her by her middle name, and thus use its initial to address a package. She wondered if something sinister about her middle name was trying to demand her attention in the way her initial falling from the wall had earlier. Confused by her own thoughts, she stumbled on the idea that the only person she knew whose name began with the letter J was Janisch Akkerman. That was when she heard a faint thumping sound, followed by a whimper, on the other side of the door, and suddenly, a knock so sharp it felt as if it had banged her on the back of her head.

I almost wish you had written the rest, so I could respond to your version in a fresh way. Incredibly, you have taken this in a direction I would like to have done. Thanks, Grey.
