The World through the Eyes of Bats

This world bores him so much because he feels that it reduced him to a mere button that is similar to other buttons in his suit that is similar to other suits that are sold in that store that is similar to other stores…

He feels stifled because everyone wanted him to obey fossilised rules, and to bathe with them in the same sea which made him want to perish, and join in another different world.

Among the creatures he most fancies are bats. He is fond of bats, to the point that he doesn’t open the windows of his house during the day, and he even changed all the curtains black to lure more and more bats to dwell in his house, and find a sanctuary.

He loves bats because they lead a special life, stand upside down, and their nights are always their mornings.

He always wishes he was a bat to see the world upside down without being blamed or laughed at, and to enjoy a new version, a vivid version of a world falling asunder under the feet of bats.

You should read the children's book Stellaluna.  I am a bat fanatic... and one of my has the theme of bats, both alone and in colony, running all the way through it.

We've got a bat or two in our eaves, and they attract me as much as they freak me out.  This is a fine piece of work, and I love the original creativity behind its themes.

I like what Kristine said about thinking.  This post is full of challenges to standard ways of thinking, and I enjoyed reading it.  Bats suddenly seem a little warmer.

upside down thinking, inside out thinking, too, is a good thing.  i like this six, and i think i'll go think about buttons inside coats instead of outside for awhile.

Very well put.  Bats are usually feared (I know I am scared of them after finding a fruit bat--really huge--in my house) but you've put this in a totally different light.  Perhaps we should all try standing on our heads.
