The Pink Principal (with apologies to Mssrs. Abbott & Costello)

The Pink Principal

Scene: The High School Media Center

Setting: Mrs. Darnay, the librarian, has just shared an Animaniacs dialog based upon Abbott and Costello’s famous “Who’s on first?” sketch. Our principal, Mr. MO, is now engaging the group in another inane conversation based upon his favorite “Pink Panther” Inspector Clouseau lines…

Darnay: “So, Mr. MO, tell us YOUR favorite Clouseau line.”

MO: “Not now, Kato.”

Darnay: “Well if not now, when?”

MO: “Not now…”

Darnay: “Okay, when?”

MO: “Not now…”(waving his digit finger)

Darnay: (aside to student) “This man is CRAZY!”

MO: “…oh, we do not use that word here.”

Darnay: “What word do we use?”

MO: “Now, now…”

Darnay: (aside to student) “This man is ‘now-now’?”

MO: “That is why I have failed where others have succeeded!”

Darnay: “Okaaay? …So back to the question…do you have another favorite Clousseau line?

MO: “Ah, yes. Do you have a rheuuum?”

Darnay: “A whaaa???…a rheuuum??”

MO: “That’s what I said, you idiot… a RHEUUUM!

Darnay: “Ahhh, a room! Of course I have a room… right over there (pointing)…through that door.”

MO: “That is the door??”

Darnay: “Yes, that is the door.”

MO: “Yes, I kneuuw that is the door, you idiot!”

Darnay: (aside to Laurie) “This man is CRAZY!”

MO: “Oh, we don’t use that word here.”

Darnay: “Oh yeah, I forgot… This man is now.”

MO: “Not now, Kato.”

Darnay: “Not now?”

MO: “Now, now…”(waving his digit finger)

Darnay: “arrrgggh!”
