The Mosquito"s song, fills the
room with clapping hands,

but,...still drinking , after
the glass is drained -

The glass half full or
the glass half empty ?

Its much too hot ,to
wear a watch tonight -

While just you and me
are awake all night -as

a bullfrog sings its
lonely lullaby,...

This is stunning. I feel as if I silently witnessed a private moment.

Mal, what I most like about this good poem of yours is that you took small observations for your imagery, those like

Its much too hot ,to
wear a watch tonight -

which we can all relate to and sharply brings home the reality of oppressive heat. They are the little things that mean so much in a poem and the ability of a good poet like you to get your point and picture across to readers.

I've never liked mosquitoes, but they seem inordinately fond of me. The song is something else. Though I must say the bullfrog's lullaby is the thing that would make me endure this concert. Your words are lovely, Mal, even for a non-fan of the little demons. And yes, for the associated memories that their song brings back.

Reminds me of many long hot summers, camping on school holidays, as the mosquito"s would sing their song , sometimes all night long .
