What can YOU say in six sentences?
After running errands and going to Assisted Living my husband and I hunkered down to watch the Hunger Games. At first I was upset and then I became engulfed into the movie. I hope our wonderful world would never turn into any thing like children killing each other because out of two dozen that are chosen each year only one can return home after the games are played. I woke up thinking of nothing else this morning.
Have you seen the movie or read the books? What did you think of it/them?

Comment by Jeanette Cheezum on September 5, 2012 at 12:17pm Don't get me wrong, the movie was done to perfection. I didn't read the trilogy. This is one persons thoughts (mine) and I wondered what other people thought.
Comment by Jeanette Cheezum on September 5, 2012 at 12:10pm Non taken. I understand and that sickens me (death of children per day) My fear here is because this is intended for young adults, that more of this could happen (gangs).
Comment by Bill Floyd on September 5, 2012 at 10:17am No disrespect intended, but I've been doing some research this morning, and on average, between 4-9 children per day are killed by gun violence in the U.S. And a movie chilled you?
Comment by Jeanette Cheezum on September 5, 2012 at 9:21am That's okay, Bekk. There's still plenty of good left and I would like to see it continue.
Comment by Scarlett Rose on September 5, 2012 at 5:47am Seen and read! I like them :)
And really - no offense Jeanette - but our world isn't really wonderful at all. It's pretty broken!

Comment by Jeanette Cheezum on September 4, 2012 at 2:42pm Africa is a true story and it will be many years if ever that anyone can put a stop to that. However, I felt this was civilization at it's worst. I'm really surprised it's listed as YA.
Comment by Gita on September 4, 2012 at 11:50am I thought the societies were interesting. The disparity between the wealth and cultural life of the city people and that of the rural miners/farmers/pluggers -- haves and have nots -- was telling. I took it as a futuristic fantasy movie, and not really seriously. What bothers me more are the children who are kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers in Africa -- trained to kill or be killed themselves.
Comment by Jeanette Cheezum on September 3, 2012 at 9:33pm It really got to me.
