We were in that now infamous meeting with him, so we knew before anyone else.  The window shattered, and I remember Zoe laughing out loud, not about Mark being shot, just about the jolt of the noise.  (Zoe always laughs when she's nervous or scared.)  "What was that?" said Chase, very casually, always casually, and Zoe practically shouted that the window "blew the hell up."  I remember someone loudly slurping a can of soda, then we noticed Mark on the ground, bloody and motionless.  None of us realized at the time that the world would never be the same.
