The arena is massive, its girders receding away into the middle distance somewhere above the rows of spotlights. The ticket price is out of the ordinary person's range, so the promoters have brought in some wanderers off the street to fill up the nosebleed seats. Onstage, speakers stride confidently back and forth, projected onto hi-def screens large as continents, but only those seated in the very front rows can make sense of what they're saying. These select attendees think the show is awesome and they give rave reviews, while everyone else is just kind of puzzled or else overwhelmed entirely by the sheer scale of the spectacle. Security is tight, men in yellow coats grave-faced and quick to expel the disrupters. The performers are beautiful, even as they lip synch the same old played-out songs.
