What can YOU say in six sentences?
Leaves fall, darkness falls, temperatures fall. You and I fall together, cocooned against an uncertain winter while everything else is simply letting go. The leaves, yes, veined like us and each twisted into its own fucked and fantastic shape. Some fall from the very top, up where the branches reached as close to the sun as they could get; others were satisfied to adorn the abundance nearer the roots. All surrendered in turn now, the rain bleeding them into the very earth. The trees by their trillions.

Comment by Gita on October 19, 2011 at 8:24pm When I read the title at first I took it to be sarcastic and I thought you were going to have a little sport with those of us who've been writing autumnal sixes. But no, it's not sarcastic. It's lovely and veined with imagery. I should have more faith in you.
