She'd originally scheduled her flight to LA for Monday (she was supposed to appear as a panelist on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect) but she pushed it back a day because Tuesday was her husband's birthday and she wanted to be with him that morning.  

In her role as chief investigative counsel for the US House of Representatives, she'd dug tenaciously into the Clintons' past, running down American Spectator-fodder conspiracy theories like "Travelgate" and "Filegate."  She helped orchestrate smear campaigns against Anita Hill and Hillary Clinton, and her husband argued Bush's side before the Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore.  Suffice it to say, she and Ted were notably involved in a lot of recent American history, and usually came out on the winning side.

Some "truthers" contend that Barbara is alive and well and living in Europe, traveling on a Vatican-issued passport.  Others say she remarried Ted after undergoing plastic surgery and taking on a new name altogether.

Where do these people come from and who funds them? The Koch Brothers? Karl Rove? I know that you wrote this in a neutral voice (good for the reporter in you) but I take it unkindly that the Clintons were relentlessly hounded, as is Obama, as are all the progressives who enter politics. Great post.
