She looked out at the vast canyon before her, standing on its edge, and wondered how many millions of years it had taken for the earth to create this one, magnificent piece of beauty.

Patience, commitment and time; Mother Earth didn't care how long it took to form her works of wonder. She persisted, and in the end, it only mattered to her that her creations withstood the test of time.

We could learn so much from her resilience, her tenacity in the face of those who constantly strive to undermine her authority.

But even she can lose her patience, hurling floods, avalanches and earthquakes our way to test our endurance, but we recover, and again pledge our gratitude and beg for her forgiveness. When will we learn?

Nice job on this, I wish I had the answer.

I know, it's the saddest thing. These poor creatures can't even stand up for themselves.

I think the first step would be to take global warming seriously and make amends. Then we can re-pledge our gratitude and all the rest.  BP and Haliburton totally f**d up the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico and the adjacent swampland which is the nursery for marine life. Shrimpers are pulling up tons of shrimp with NO EYES! Fish with LESIONS. Oy, don't get me started. We don't eat food out of the Gulf anymore.
