He owns one of the largest oil companies in the Pecos Valley, but to look at him in his faded denim shirt, sweat stained cowboy hat, scuffed up boots, & wore thin Levis, you'd never tell.

If he owns a cadillac or a Lincoln, I've never seen it, because he is always driving that red Ford diesel pickup, that's around a late 90's model with a bashed in door & no tailgate.

His wife wears enough diamonds & jewelry that you'd never want to get stuck behind her in an airport check in, & his daughter tries to dress like Paris Hilton, but he never puts on any airs & always has a kind word.

He sold one of his ranches & threw a big party complete with a Lefty Frizzell concert, but he invited everybody & made sure to talk to everybody.

His wife & daughter flew to Dallas to buy something to wear to this party, but he looked no different than his hired hands.

This just goes to show that money isnt everything.

So true, Rusty. Money is a controversial thing. It divides people without much effort. Your friend sounds like he's being protective of what matters - the people he cares about, which sounds just about everyone. Being honored by your words, you've made him rich in the truest sense.
