I have a revolution on my hands - after weeks of work on the house, my body is rebelling. Even after a trip to the bonesetter for a spot of manipulation on various parts of my anatomy, I still feel thoroughly hammered. My brain is also being problematic in some part due to the fumes from paints and oils which created a heady mix.

After wearing my practical head for so long now, I have mislaid my creative one which has completely deserted me - it is probably lurking in some dark corner under a dustsheet or hidden beneath a pile of misplaced belongings. I am praying that it didn’t get thrown out in one of the empty paint tins or taken to the tip in a sack of rubble. Hopefully I will find it before long as I cannot exist without it for much longer.

Edward - if you knew how much effort it took to write these six short sentences, you wouldn't think it funny.

Thank you all for your lovely comments.

Sandra - I do so hope you are right.

Bolton - thanks for your good wishes.

Jeanette - I have visited the bonesetter on and off since I was 11-years-old. The trouble is that since I've got older the good that it does works off a lot faster.

Teresa - it's good to know you will still be around when I've regained myself.

Gita - if they did, I doubt whether they would have got much for it!

Mike - it's always good to know that I am not alone.

Beth - your hugs are always welcome.

Dominique - creativity can be so elusive at times. This is certainly not the first time I have misplaced mine and I'm very sure it won't be the last. I'm pleased to know that yours is returning.

Ravi - I stick to water paints, pencils and pastels as a rule as I am very susceptible to smells. I do wish I had been able to spend as much time with those as I have painting walls, ceilings and the rest. The real killers have been painting the insides of cupboards.

Joe - thanks for your good wishes which are much appreciated. At 65 and my hubby soon to be 70, I do feel we should be taking life a bit easier and doing more of what we want in life. Chance would be a fine thing!

Being a painter, you should've got used to the smell of paints! Don't worry; you'll get it back.

Cheers.

I know the feeling, before chemo I use to write everyday caring a pen and pad with me everywhere I went. My dreams were vivid and imaginative.  Once the chemo was complete I lost some of that creative fire. I could barely remember my dreams and I wrote sporadically. I am happy to say that one year later some of that creative spark is coming back. It takes time and patients but your brain ,the lively, mad and wonderfully creative side will come back.

Dearest Diana,

*HUGS*

I suspect it is still there. In fact, I am seeing hints of it in this post ;) Give yourself a break. You deserve it. But I understand what it's like. *more hugs* Hang in there!
