What can YOU say in six sentences?
I had a beautiful moment once.
It was a beautifully flawed, wonderfully un-perfect moment...but so beautiful it makes my heart leap and the breath catch in my throat and my eyes glow with remembered beauty.
The moment was laughter and seriousness and a thin sheen of sweat across tan upper bodies as our legs lay tangled in the sheets shoved down to our waists...it was 108 degrees outside but we clung to each other like it was -7; because his arm is draped across my waist with such perfect beauty, and his other hand tangles in my hair with such passion we almost believe we will have a thousand such moments.
Sunlight beams down through the windows and my palm is spread open across his heart like I am the key to unlocking it, and for a moment we don't need to talk, or can't talk, or don't want to talk because we can feel something happening...I couldn't tell you what it was then, but I can now.
The universe shifted slightly, and that moment stood out gleaming from all the others.
If, at the end of our earthly lives, we get to see a highlight reel of our lives, I know that one beautiful moment will be featured.

Comment by Jadie Jones on August 15, 2012 at 11:14pm I loved the intro sentence, and the third sentence was so full of foreshadowing. lovely
Comment by Other on August 15, 2012 at 8:33pm Pavese wrote, "We do not remember days, we remember moments." I think we forget decades, or more. But moments still inspire entire lifetimes. How's that? Are we all completely insane? Maybe, thankfully so.
Comment by Mike Handley on August 15, 2012 at 7:23pm There will be more, dear one, and the cool part is that they don't cancel out or overshadow the others. That reel is still filling.
Comment by FlowerChild on August 15, 2012 at 3:48pm I appreciate the feedback!
Comment by Kristine_ES on August 15, 2012 at 2:03pm i'm wondering how many couples have a moment like this. and only seems to happen once, that connection,.
maybe that's all you ever need, that one time, to carry you through.
beautiful.
You made me remember. I hope a wreath of these moments is placed around our necks. Sentences four and five are so captivating.
