Knee deep in a puddle of tears, my head in your lap your hands in my hair and everything about you I love but can't have, sweeps over me.  You claim the spark is missing with the same breath as you love me need me want me in your life.  But not in the way I wanted you.  Knee deep in a puddle of our tears; sometimes love isn't enough.  I never understood the difference between the spark and the deep calm that fills my being when I was with you (despite trying to be someone else).   Not until another spark flew my way did I understand it was me that had been missing.

Good work in bringing out the recognition. All too often we give up parts of ourselves in hopes of being what we think others want us to be. I love it when someone stops doing that and doesn't make light of having done so. Nice work.

yes....the most important part. I can relate, as I bet most can. And how wonderful when that reality becomes a part of us. Beautifully stated.
