What can YOU say in six sentences?
Shocked, I answer the phone with, "Hey Baby, whatcha callin' for in the middle of the day?"
"Just checkin' on my girl, makin' sure you're doin' okay."
I tease, "Aw, so you're wantin' to know if it's safe to come home tonight? Checkin' on the mood, huh?"
"I didn't say that exactly, but you gotta admit you were a hot kettle of fish last night."
"So now I'm being referred to as a 'hot kettle of fish,' good to know..."

stephen - he is funny and wonderful for even calling when i'm moody. i love him dearly. and thank you so much for the compliment - i haven't really tried to get in mags or newspapers, but i would love to! :)
Comment by Stephen Torelli on August 5, 2012 at 6:50am Hot kettle of fish? I think that's funny and the guy has class for calling. Excellent post. Your writing is the kind I read in magazines or newspapers. Are you published?
lol, teresa! he might have been worried about knives, but he's always well-intentioned. he doesn't call very often, but definitely knows when i'm needing a pick-me-up. he's a very perceptive one! i know how lucky i am even when i am a kettle of shit. :)
I'm just shaking my head at the fact that you get calls like that, "Just checkin' on my girl..." I think he could call me a hot kettle of shit for making such sweet-intentioned calls. Or maybe he was just calling to make sure you weren't sharpening knives. Teehee...
HE DID! :)
Comment by Jenni Marie on August 4, 2012 at 5:49pm YUCK about the car situation. Did he really say, "hot kettle of fish"? I can totally hear it! :)

angela - i was upset because my writing hasn't been going as well as i'd like and i have to go back to work this week and some idiot hit a semi tire tread that flew into my car and dented it. just a minor meltdown kind of night. lol. :)
