She goes into the studio with a full band:  drums, fiddle, non-pedal steel, lead guitar, base, keyboard.

Of course, the musicians are all The Best, but  her fine, fine lyrics turn to mush, and the songs turn to noise.

She can't see that less is more.

On her third husband she realizes that she no longer needs date nights, romantic gifts, counselling, "better sex" books and videos, role-playing... and a night on the couch with books, a fire, and a plate of cheese and olives sounds just about perfect.

He holds her hand.

She goes to the studio this time with her guitar, a sheaf of new notes, naked.

I liked it. Sad that many are unable to understand it much less appreciate it

I see a lot of bands, but am rarely as impressed as I am when that one person just gets up there with a guitar and goes off.  Solid piece.

Some people play better music when nude. Nice 6.

Maturity can bring some amazing things. In some ways, a few, getting older doesn't suck. "He holds her hand." That reminds me of "prayerfully" from G the other day. No other writer, no not even your favorite one, the one that won those awards and has sold all those books, could have put better words in that place.

Show, don't tell, and this fits the bill perfectly.  The whole thing holds together seamlessly.

The soft but abrupt transition from four to five is breathtaking.  Then six sums it up perfectly.  Very nice.

Good 6S. I enjoyed the smooth shifts  between the snapshots/scenes.

Stripped clean.  Love it.  Thinking of exploring the cheese and olives option.
