What can YOU say in six sentences?
Rosarious slouches into the lab, no book, laces perilously undone, earbuds blasting Dr. Dre.
Inglorious student with glorious shoes, he is a prince among his peers. I see those shoes and the status they confer, and I know what they cost.
They cost him his books for the semester, is what they cost.
"ROSARIOUS," I shout, waving my hand to break through his wall of sound, "YOU NEED TO TIE YOUR LACES!"

Comment by Annabelle Baptista on January 30, 2013 at 10:30am Yes, you say a lot in a few words, and I find it funny and heartbreaking.
Comment by Angela on January 29, 2013 at 11:25pm Can't say that I miss having to tell children to tie their shoes. Adults? Don't think I would have said a word. I remember when my mother stopped reminding me and warning me that I would trip. The first time I fell down was the last time I went untied. I'm old and he's idiotic.
Comment by Brittany on January 29, 2013 at 10:49pm they get killed for those shoes too :-(
you say a lot here, with few words.

Comment by Robert Crisman on January 29, 2013 at 3:23pm Like Other said, too cool for school. He'll either get rich or die like a dog.
welcome to my world! nothing like untied shoes tromping down the hall with an ipod blasting and jeans sagging. this was familiar territory for me. i like that feeling. :)
Comment by Cita on January 29, 2013 at 11:18am ROFL.... love this. Made me laugh this morning, and I needed to laugh.
Comment by Gita on January 29, 2013 at 10:20am @Adrian: Undone laces make the shoes easier to steal. This is true. People mug students for expensive shoes and if the laces are undone, it is much easier to yank them off the feet. Laces tied means the owner has time to fight back. Or run.
Comment by Other on January 29, 2013 at 10:12am Too cool for school.
