His name was Joe; the moniker didn’t fit the man or his dreams so he chose a persona of KAWFEE, Yo Saxman or simply J. Guevara.

I'm sure many of you remember him as KAWF, that acerbic creative writer friend that perused this site for quite a while.

With a sad heart, I must tell you that he passed away recently of injuries from a fall in the Philippines.

He is survived by his wife Shen and five adopted Filipino children that he lovingly called his ‘Cereal Killers’.

For those wishing to send condolences, Shen can be found on F.B. @Pixiebluebeach Guevara.

I for one will miss his wit, acid tongue and writing but underneath his hard turtle shell was a big hearted guy that gave as much as he got.

one of the first to offer me 'a friend' request back in 2010- so sorry that he's gone

When I first joined 6S, he commented all the time on my posts, but rarely did he post things himself.  I got the impression he was a gentle soul who really liked writing, writers, and of course coffee.  Not much did we know about him but he was a 6S colleague and we loved him for what he let us see.  So sorry that he passed away.

Your post is the 1st I heard of him and now I've spent several hours discovering him on 6s and on his own jguevaranovels.com. site. Fascinating. Thank you for that. I'm sorry for the circumstances and my heart goes out to his wife and children.

This is such very sad news.  Thank you for letting us know.  I remember the two of you bantering.  I'm glad I bought his book about Mr. Twain - The Twain Shall Meet.  KAWF's picture looks like he's surrounded by a halo.  Maybe he is now.  He will be missed.

I recall him.  Sorry to hear of his passing.  Sounds like he lived a full life.
