Someone thought it was a good idea to buy an aquarium for the office. This was about a year ago, when Carolyn Paulus was still with us, before she was fired for stealing boxes and boxes of Swiss Miss. The aquarium now sits pretty close to its original home near the copier, half-filled with grayish water, directly opposite Carolyn's old desk, which is empty except for some loose paper clips and a packet of herb seeds she must've gotten from Whole Foods last Earth Day. I think I remember that. And I was thinking that nobody really makes copies anymore, so I guess it won't be long before the copier becomes like the aquarium and Carolyn's old desk. So I made a copy just for the hell of it.

Departing colleagues leave a hole even if you wanted them gone.

I wish someone would print a damn fine newspaper, just for the hell of it.

the real question is:  what was the copy of?

seriously though, love the swiss miss stealing and the herb seeds from last year's earth day.  those are the details of a rockstar writer!  guess we know why you are the master behind 6S.

Cool study of the process of becoming obsolete.  Offices are good for that.

There's a wonderful apathy about this piece.  Excellent!

This is so funny.  Excellent.  An entire movie could be made about how ideas and technology die off, people, fish and jobs.  A feel like Office Space.  Great post.

Dunno if this is dark or not.  Ive been reading so many horror flick posts,  I keep wondering what I may have missed, here.  And why is it pointedly pointed out that the aquarium is 'pretty close' to its original home...I sense depths but Im not sure what they are.  =)
