Inanimate friends - a challenge?

The un-punchy, drear and old-fashioned advertisement for upholstered chairs used, in underwhelming type (near-buried in the great profusion) the tag line “A comfortable chair can become one of your best friends’

‘How sad’ I thought, to have as a best friend an inanimate object.

But it set me pondering.

What six ‘things’ would I choose in the absence of warm-blooded folk?

(I suspect the list might be all books, since a bottle would not last long enough)

But I’m sure my 6S friends can come up with something better.
