Testament
We all know at some point I'm going to die, but the kids refuse to discuss it.; tell me I'm rushing things. Well, I'm 84, and far from rushing anything, I'm just facing the truth that sooner or later I'm going to die, probably sooner, the way things are going, and it would go easier on them if we could talk about this now, easy like.
My granddaughter Bekka is the only one who gets this; we have already picked out the funeral home, the plot, made a list of what I want done to me and not done, and wrote it all down, nice and legal.
When the time comes, the funeral is prepaid, and there's instructions for what to do. I've also given her power of attorney and wrote out an obituary to put in the paper. And I will put money on this one: when they find out what I've done, they'll flap like chickens for weeks, indignant that they weren't included in the plans.
