What can YOU say in six sentences?

I am optimistic but not naive. Every December, around Christmas, I thumb through my doorstop of a book of Ray Bradbury’s short stories and revisit his tales of Mars. His vision of Mars was one of destruction, realizing new lives, leaving things behind, and Hope. No matter how bad it gets, no matter how bad we are as a people, a few of us have enough Hope and Dreams to survive. I’d like to think that I’d have the guts to fly to Mars to live…that I’d be able to leave all but the most important people and things behind. And that’s how I feel on New Year’s Eve…I have the people and things that matter most and we’re leaving behind all the insignificance and starting a new life.

Happy New Year From Mars!

I love anyone who has STACKS of books! I keep some of my stacks under my side of the bed. The other morning my husband said "Gee honey, you were really cuddling up last night, it was nice." And I said, "Well, no, I fell asleep with a big book open on my side of the bed and during the night I kept trying to get away from it because the edge was digging into my face."

Very nice. I've also read Bradbury since I was a child, for many years he was my favorite author, perhaps still is. I like your Hope - such an important feeling to cling to. Happy New Year from Earth!
