My Small Stones blog post earlier this morning:

'I don't like small stubby pencils.
So short my fingers grip tight.
But I could do with a few, holes drilled at one end,
To fasten with string to my notebook.'

No sooner mentioned to my Dearly Beloved than done.

Half a dozen neatly hole-drilled pencils.

He really is a dear, you know. I love the photo-illustration. I hope to meet DBS sometime soon. I might bring along a notebook and pencils when I come.....

He can drill holes in pencils without drawing blood or doing property damage? I am impressed...

Good man. Of course, good men don't do these types of things for just anybody, so congratulations on being a good wife.

You really have a prince of a guy.  If I mentioned the same thing at home, the answer I would get is, "I don't think they come that way."
