What can YOU say in six sentences?
We haven’t seen her in a while so we knocked on that old wooden door hoping to catch a glimpse. Besides, trick or treating is for kids, and tonight was that special night and we just wanted to say hello, thinking of that witchy toothed grin, withered broom and tasty Jell-O wriggling in an orange napkin, a treat that only I would eat. And we always knew she was at her best on All Hallows Eve and I will forever remember her blameless smile, like gold dust, yet she sparkles just the same… but she simply didn’t answer.
Even her window, the one without curtains was unlit, so we began to fret, but when we departed we saw a curl of inky smoke far off in the gray sky… and that was the best news ever!
Wiji lives and she may be residing in your town, so if you ever notice an ancient and wicked looking woman with pointed nose and lots of pluck who rarely smiles, carries a withered broom with a spotted cat nearby, give her a wink and a smile because she’ll pay you back with not only a charming spell but with a perfect treat… Jell-O wrapped in an orange napkin. She may be living in a wooden corner house with a few windows, but there's one without curtains and a black-pedaled Singer sewing machine on display.

Comment by Angela on November 2, 2012 at 5:53pm She may very well be here. We have so many vacant, run down homes in our town. She could have a whole coven. Love that jello.
