It’s hard for me to imagine a perfect city.

I suppose there would be vehicles.

People have to get around.

I guess there would be stores.

Stores bum me out because commercialism pretty much sullies everything.

One thing’s for certain: there would have to be a statue of a rutabaga by the ballpark.

I do love the absurdity, G. There is something in every city that's a little absurd. Might as well be a statue of rutabaga by the ballpark.

An interesting response to the challenge.

Brautigan was a big deal there for a while but he never did that much for me. Still, you have to love the absurdity of a rutabaga at the ball park. I love that touch of whimsy.

Okay.  I knew of Trout Fishing in America but not In Watermelon Sugar (sounds a lot like my idea of utopia, but no forgotten heap to get lost in).  Poor Brautigan's name had escaped me.  What a terrible ending for him.

I don't know what or who Brautigan is, but that's why I read.  I shall go Internetting now.

Wonderful.  Somehow I forgot Brautigan (like so many other things I once enjoyed).  Oh, well.  Life goes on.
