Gripping the steering wheel, he came out of another curve and pressed the accelerator, annoyed with the sense of doubt, the Honda bouncing gently along the dirt surface...he didn't remember this road at all.  Suddenly the front end of a car jumped from a gravel pit on his right, and he swerved, almost losing control.  There'd been a glimpse of a carload of youths, the driver raising something to his mouth.  He saw them coming in the rearview, a red and white Chevy from the fifties--and they were right on his tail.  Going slower didn't help--the Chevy tapped his bumper, the youths drinking and yelling and thrusting arms out their windows.

"Punks!"

Love the action in this piece. I'm starting to call the younger generation 'punks'. Oh no, guess that means I'm part of the older generation.

We used to just drive up the road for a cone on Sunday.  I guess things have changed.
