Epiphany

While reclining in the dental chair the assistant handed me a mirror and pointed to my root canal.

I suddenly realized that if you are laying on your back you could look anywhere from fifteen to twenty five years younger; depending on age, how you’ve lived your life and the elasticity of your skin.

 

Then I imagined how every person that looked like a Shar-Pei puppy that crossed my path could look in the prone position. This was becoming an obsession; not fun anymore.

 

Then I remembered at the beginning of my career as an Optician I knew that if you drew a line down the middle of a person’s face and doubled each side you would see two different looking faces.

 

Thank, God, I have something else to think about.

Nah Brad. There are several ways of looking at the six. 

If I'm prone in the story it means my breast will raise me up and my butt will look younger. It's a girl thing.

I think the position you describe is "supine"--face up, as in a dentist chair.  The prone position is usually assumed by patients subject to another kind of medical specialty.
