My favorite outfit: plastic platform boots, a long black Goth-style skirt, and a purple tank top. It straddles angry and sexy. It's kind of a "I haven't sold out yet" look. I feel like I was born with disadvantages: female, small, not particularly athletic. If God exists, why did He make a physically weaker gender, but one just as smart? Shouldn't women be dumb, weak and happy?

no, not happy - that'd be an advantage.

That outfit is the neutralizer, whatever physical strength advantage there may have been is cancelled out by the rapid reduction to babbling idiothood we experience. Agree with Mike below, that line does things to my mind.

... a sparkling tale.

Haven't met too many women who were dumb and weak, at least not compared to most of the fellas I know (myself included).  Happy?  Don't think gender figures into that too much.  And everyone likes to look angry and sexy.  The turmoil here was well expressed.

They should be 'happy', we all should.  'Dumb' and 'weak' are relative terms and can be cancelled out of the equation. Something tells me you're not the selling out type.

Fair enough questions. As your writing typically is, Roxanne, it's provocative and engaging and direct and with a gymnast's facility with words.

I also liked sentence two.  I like the way you worked from the personal to the global.  To the point, leaving us with something to consider.

Agree with Mike on both remarks! I like the quick, punchy energy of this.  Just what a six should be, I think.

God is a He?

"Straddles angry and sexy" is the best line I've read in a very long time. It's perfect.
