Put a chicken in a crock pot. Cook it for 5 hours. Pull off the meat every time you want a meal for days, and you won't even need dishes.

Take a shower, using extra soap and shampoo. That way you won't have to bathe again for a while.

When the chicken is used up, you know it's time to take another shower.

You've captured the heaviness and difficulty of performing small tasks - but the story leaves its readers laughing. Laughter makes us feel weightless, uplifted, floating. (Nice contrast to the sensation of being weighed down.) Maybe I'm babbling, so let me go back to sentence one. This piece is utterly funny!
