Consequences (Grey's Kissing Challenge)

They were passionate and filled the nights with pleasure, each kiss lingering through the next day in life.

At the altar the passion still flamed, on display for all to see, and two became one as husband and wife.

Like all great things there are consequences though, and the kisses of passion and love needed to grow, as the two who were one became three.

Now I sit and watch as they're shared, peppering little foreheads with unending love and curing small hurts with the magic that held me all through those nights.

They're still there for me, bringing the comfort of love, and in moments of passion, a memory of when two were just one.

Memories are powerful in what they can do, and today's kisses still carry me through the next day's life.

Michael, I think I may like your title better than mine...

This is spot on, and might have been called The Dance of Kisses. You have them weaving in and around courtship, marriage, and family like signposts. Very clever take on the theme.

My two never became three, but you wrote it so well that I can relate.

i love that you moved the kisses to the kids and back again.  that's sweet and such a happy ending.

Thanks everyone -

@Grey - I suspect that many make the mistake of eternally seeking the first sentence, when it may always be there, it just slowly changes.

This is terribly interesting.  Kissing practice does change over time, and I think you might have revealed to me how long-term relationships work when they are successful.  It seems that, for the successful ones, with memory there is no regret over change.  Beautiful thought.

I never really thought a man would do so well with this challenge, but you proved me wrong. Well done, traveller.

This one is my favorite, especially lines 3 and 5.  You're on a roll.
