Clara mishears Graham (Warped holiday tale, after Sissy)

<---------- Sissy 'Black Wings'

Black wings, black flag, black slip, Slip and sip, and sip and sip, of uisge beatha, the 'Water of Life.'

Impossible, then, to comprehend and although Graham knew himself also to be unsteady, he had watched Clara in disbelief, had heard her words, her prophecy of his imminent death and had seen her, in the blackness of his stare, his one-word utterance, waver, tremble and dissolve. He had arisen, wanting to reach her, to hold her, believing that if he did so he could prevent her disappearance, knowing only that she had uttered an agonised cry when he had said ‘Mark’

But Mark had not been his choice – he had been going to say “Mark, and a return to infancy is not what I would choose ...” Instead, as Clara spoke that single word, in that dark room, the gleam of snow from outside exaggerating the contrast within, he had known that Giselle would be his future – a future she was at that moment travelling towards, speeding through the air, soon to land, and if he was to meet her in time to become her he had to leave now. ‘Giselle’ had promised time and recovery – and he yearned for happiness, simply sung.

@Sandra, I know what you mean about the preceding voice, it can conjure up something different in us than we would have normally done, that's why I like some of these little challenges too! As for the any praise from you, it is highly appreciated. I feel like I'm learning so much playing on this playground with so much talent and skill.

Thank you both - I seem to be able to 'tune in' to the preceding voice when doing these, hence this has adopted some of Sissy's poetry and rhythm.   I like it, very much but find it harder to do unaided.

As an aside, the bestest bits of my NaNoNovel were when some sort of automatic kicked in and I wrote like this without thinking about it ... I need to find out how to do it on purpose.
