Broken Windows and a Good Beatin: Stefano's Diary, 1967

My friends broke windows today and I was with them and when we were rounded up they said they didn’t do it and I said we did. But we were spoken to individually and the owner wants me to tell the cops, so just for that, I'm gonna say nobody did it.

And now, my whole family is involved and mom and dad want the facts, but I think I'll see Grandma before I do anything else. She listens and won't tell on the others, yet the man who owns the property is good friends with her, but I'll tell her anyway and she'll fix everything.

Man, dad's gonna give me a good beatin, but now that I think of it, it never hurts. He knows how to do stuff like that without hurtin you… and I only cry because I hurt his feelings.

this is a strong family. and we only hurt the ones we love (cliche, sorry) but sometimes there's no other way to say it.  interesting that he goes to tell Grandma first. i think my son would probably do the same thing.
