What can YOU say in six sentences?
I remember winning a drinking bet against my guy friend over five, ten, fifteen bottles of flavored soju. I stood up in merriment - lights became circles... stars whirling around my head. I remember the taste of strawberry syrup, and yogurt, and pineapple and lychee, and all the sweetest things there ever was. My friends cheered at us, and the world was beautiful. Then again, I don't remember what exactly happened. Now I'm here, safe and sane on my bed, and my guy friend snoring right into my left ear... naked.

Comment by Gita on February 8, 2012 at 10:22pm soju is the tiramisu of booze. Good luck with that!
Comment by Glen Green on February 8, 2012 at 3:46pm Soju! I remember it's warm smoothness well though 25 years have passed. It worked the same magic with lights and stars for me too. I didn't know it could be flavored. And maybe that's the life lesson - it's the sweetness that pulls us under. The half naked guy-friends I woke up with were Marines. I don't think anything happened. I hope not. I like your giddy description of the ride, and I can almost feel it myself.

Comment by Jamie Hogan on February 7, 2012 at 11:14am "...and the world was beautiful." I thought this was heartfelt and very well-rendered. Obviously close to home. Thank you for sharing it with us.
