I entered because of an unascertained urge, although the chapel was stunning, Dark Age design and artwork to match, Giotto di Bondone frescoes, but I was caught off guard. She was just sitting there, middle-aged and adorned with a scarlet veil.

Of course, I noticed her while ascending the aisle, incense penetrating my soul, and I forgot about the frescoes when she whispered something unintelligible. Freezing in my tracks, she was kneeling within the pew, not praying but chanting softly. Beguiled, I stood in place only to observe her Delphic smile. Take me with you I thought, hoping to discover her secret.

'Beguiled, I stood in place only to observe her Delphic smile.' How cool is that sentence? Very cool.

Unascertained urge!  Aren't most of our lives controlled by these?  Exceptionally good six.

I wonder what other people are praying every time I go to church, but this sounds very intense.  Your reference to the Oracle shows how timeless our desire for knowing truly is.  The experience is both beautifully physical and spiritual.  Well done.
