What distance am I from the tree? Oh how far I’ve fallen. But did I fall or did something let go? Bruised, trampled upon, will no one pick me up? Go into the ground and wait, for what happens next is anyone’s guess. I don’t believe I’ll return.

I don't sense any anxiety from this voice.  No anxiety about distance from the tree, distance fallen, how the fall happened or why no one comes to the rescue.  There is no anxiety about what happens next or the possibility of never returning.  If only humans were so accepting of unknowns.  A+

At least there are brethren, also fallen, near.  Look out!  Here comes Freddie.

... is it just for the moment we live? What's it all about when you sort it out, Alfie...

I couldn't really comment on this because I didn't understand why an apple seed would doubt it's prospects for  germination and growth. Once again, I am a bear of little brain.

Nature, spiritualism, death, nothing... when these things are upon us, the mind searches for some sort of answer that never comes. What's it all about Alfie?

Fell too far from the tree?  I agree with Lapham, this is crazy deep to have so few words.

at first i thought it was a newton play, but the process is an interesting one of apple seeds and their cycle.
