A Tall Story About The Amazon
This girl is tall, I mean really, really tall; she’s an Amazon I swear.
“You’re total is $1.87,” the clerk says to this really, really tall girl.
A small giggle descends from the top where her mouth might be.
“Oh… I only have a dollar.”
Her tapered legs go all the way up… way up… way, way up, long, long, long, disappear in a gray cloud of short skirt. The Amazon strides across the floor, moving precariously - - a waltzing sway - - but I believe I’m the one about to fall.

She walked right past me, went to her car - came back with loose change- if I had offered to help, I believe she would have said, "No thanks grandpa"

Like this six because it captures one of those life observations that moves you in unexpected ways. Not only do you remember the beauty of the Amazon and her tapered legs, but what she owed and what she had. Great job.
