What can YOU say in six sentences?
I'm tired of being stuck in-between afraid of life and afraid of death, the constant fear of where I'll end up when this is all over, so I've decided to meet my fate now instead of tomorrow or in fifty years.
No doubt by the time my body is found I will have rotted and maggots have begun destroying this pathetic excuse for a human form - ptosis, cellulite, buck teeth, and acne - so please just set it aflame and spray the ashes wherever its most convenient, down the toilet if you want.
I'm betting the boss will call annoyed that I've inconvenienced him by failing to show up to run that damn register so he'll have to give someone overtime if he doesn't stay himself - highly doubtful - and after a few days he'll call the cops since he doesn't know any family and they'll find me first if the stench isn't already so bad that the neighbor's complain.
I'd like to pretend someone would actually mourn my death but since I'm only useful when it's beneficial only to them and not me I know that nothing will happen except that all my pictures will be tossed along with anything reminiscence of me and since I've done nothing noteworthy with myself they'll be no stories to tell and I'll be forgotten in a matter of days, when the ashes are disposed.
Well there's nothing left to say I suppose.
Salaam.

Comment by Angela on August 17, 2012 at 9:49pm I am glad I came to this rather late and had time to read your comment. I hope writing your six was cathartic. It rang very true.
Comment by Deborah Jovan Reed on August 17, 2012 at 8:01pm What struck me about this note is that the writer doesn't mention friends. People with real friends don't commit suicide. Good writing here.
Comment by Joey Delgado on August 17, 2012 at 6:05pm Very authentic and well-written.
The thing about suicide notes, they are often great pieces of uninhibited writing never to be repeated. Writing can be life-saving. It's not chicken soup for the soul, it's a full on triage unit.
There's actually a YouTube of suicide notes written by famous people -- Kurt Cobain and a dozen or so others. Almost every single one was a writer/poet/artist of some sort. Interesting. Creative types carry a full load of both heaven and hell. I hope little "Don't Do It" fragments break off this six and float around the world, un-pollinating any bad ideas. A guy named Christopher Robison decided to kill his old self by just changing his name -- to Augusten Burroughs.
Comment by Stephen Torelli on August 17, 2012 at 2:18pm Glad that this is fiction... sounds authentic. Hang in there if you're feeling blue.
