Attired in my ceremonial best and mounted on a decorated horse, my marriage party proceeded to the bride's home in typical Indian tradition. As the crowds, dancing and singing, approached the bride's house, my horse turned 180 degrees and proceeded in the opposite direction. The onlookers laughed at my hilarious situation but none came to my rescue. It took a while before a cousin noticed the missing groom and pulled the horse back. It was indeed romantic to see the girls from the bride's side having the last laugh. Thank God we don't use horses to carry the groom these days; cars are more reliable!
