A Grimmy Fourth of July
The Grim Reaper blew into Hayneville, thinking to get a quick shampoo-and-set at Charlene Shiner's beauty shop, but he found her red, white and blue "Closed for the Fourth" sign instead. Grimmy was taken aback, having lost track of calendar days, what with crossing international datelines so frequently to collect persons of all creeds and ethnicities, but he smiled at the thought of millions of Americans eating fatty meats and setting off incendiary devices. Holidays were always good for business.
Nevertheless, his locks direly needed some hairdressing and he decided to see whether Char would make an exception. He whipped out his I-phone and was about to hit speed dial when a barrage of cherry bombs exploded on the street next to him and set the hem of his cloak on fire.
He shape-shifted instantaneously (terrifying the two 9-year-old boys who thought they had just ignited a withered old man), flew 40 feet into the air, cawed twice, shat on the boys and the mayor's Lincoln Town Car, and headed for Kansas where, he'd heard, a record heat wave was about to set in.

Grimmy has some challenges, poor thing. I love to think of Death getting hair care and having Char on his contacts list. It has been a while since we enjoyed this character. Thanks for letting us celebrate with him.
