The Mirror

Today I stood back and looked at myself in the mirror....I attempted to be objective about my life. 

I couldn't help but smile at my reflection, because right now, I'm on cloud freaking nine and I wanted to share that with all of you today:

I have A's in not only one but two college courses,

I am tanner than I have ever been before, 

I am more in shape than I have been in a year (blame Cita and the intenseness of Zion Ntl. Park),

I am deeply in like with a boy who lives down my street who gives excellent lightning kisses and thunder hugs,

(now I'm done bragging about myself)

and I have a wonderful family that I don't know what I would do without.

And I am grateful for you guys, all my floating-head 6S friends...you have all been so wonderful to me, the rookie, the teen-angster in the group, I love reading everyone's writing and I am learning so much from all of you...thank you for the encouragement and constructive criticism. 

I'm feeling the summer high right now, and I felt like I would share it with all of you people.

I hope you get to step back and look in the mirror and count your blessings in every laugh line, every scar, every pair of well-kissed lips you have.

Great post full of the gems Mike listed and more.  I hope you continue writing because like your mother, you've got "IT".  Which only grows when loved into words.
