She woke up screaming, it was that same dream. Everything started black, and then there was the blinding light, as white as fresh fallen snow. And then she would hear it, a sweet melody, slowly getting quieter as the light grew brighter, until it was but a whisper. Worst of all was what came next, a peaceful silence, followed by a piercing scream, so mournful and terrifying that it echoed in her for the rest of the day.

She longed for someone to hold her, just let her know it would be ok, but that wasn’t an option. There was no one to call.

I always enjoy hearing of the dreams of others.  Your narrator had quite a memorable one, which you described well.
